Name: Ted Bell City: Seattle Location: WA | Comment: Interesting to see this webpage. I spent the sumer of 1974 working at the cannery processing frozen shrimp. My high school buddy, Bob Ward was with me. That summer, Patty Hearst was posted as wanted in the post office. The house next to general store at the head of the main dock burned to the ground. A shooting at the liquor store took the lives of two local youths. Bob and I hot bunked with two college aged girls from Anchorage that worked the night shift. I remember that two Greek brothers were cooks for the cannery's kitchen. Food and supplies were delivered to the beach by the Goose seaplane. It was very eye opening for 17 year old boys from Seattle. Times were tough in Seattle in the 70s, and we were happy to have jobs. Ted Bell |
