I used to live in Ouzinkie many years ago. I learned to play the piano from Mrs. Smith. Anyone remember Indian Song? And my favorite person in the world was Nana. I never figured out how a frail 80 year old kept a herd of cows. I have so many memories. Pushing driftwood along the shore, jumping from rock to rock, exploring the trails back to the lake, playing volley ball in the school gym.

That certainly makes sense, Kevin. I think other folks with public computers probably have the same problem-- I'd be happy to make some calls next week, Justyna, and check to see what else can be done to protect the machines. Also, it might be a good idea to do some basic malware education before letting anyone use a computer- what not to click on, what types of file extensions not to open, etc. These kids are smart and look to get this computer stuff more intuitively than most adults I know- this should be easy for them. Besides, it'll help protect their families' computers, too, hahaha

I just wanted to say how beautiful your village looks. Had it not been for Myspace I would never have known this nor that your village existed. I have read some of the messages on your board and accept your concerns because yes, there are people who exploit the vulnerable through this facility and you are so very right to protect them from this sort of horror, but Myspace and the internet is a good tool for many people of all ages because they can explore where they cannot due to all sorts of various restrictions, such as money, time, location or age or disability for example. While it's obvious that there are very real difficulties for your community, I can see that the environment is magical and therefore special and that it's unique. For the record, I could care less if people used MySpace at the media. My concerns are mainly for the computers on which it is visited. Hidden requests and redirects on certain types of web pages can affect the computers depending on the reaction of the visitor. If you know what you are doing, of course it is fine, but invariably people tend to click on things they should not have. If there is a consensus, you have my support to unblock anything.

I remember how upset I was when the school blocked off myspace and then the media, oh yeah and then msn messenger and such too. When we did get free time on the internet, there was not much we could do. You can make your myspace page private and only people you approve, which is most likely people you know can see. It's a great way to keep in contact with relatives and friends and share pictures. So why block it off? I think the kids here deserve to use it.
